August 2024 Service Improvements
Service Improvements on TheRide
The planned service expansion on TheRide bus routes began on Sunday, August 25. Most routes now offer:
- Weekday bus service extended so that first trips occur around 6am and last trips occur around midnight.
- Saturday service extended so that first trips occur around 7am and last trips occur around 11pm.
- Sunday service extended so that first trips occur around 8am and last trips occur around 9pm.
- Buses running every 30 minutes on weekends before 6pm and hourly after 6pm.
Buses on some routes begin earlier or end later than the above times. Visit TheRide.org to review updated schedules.
Some notable changes to specific routes include:
- Route 24 - riders who used Route 24 should now use Route 6A or 6B between downtown Ann Arbor and Briarwood mall or Route 67 between Briarwood Mall and Washtenaw Community College/Trinity Health campuses.
- Route 6B transports riders to stops between downtown Ann Arbor and Briarwood Mall Monday through Friday. Route 6A continues to operate along the traditional Route 6 between downtown Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti on weekdays and weekends.
- Routes 4 and 62 have returned to fall/winter schedules.
Please inform your team about changes and expanded transportation options so they can get to work without hiccups.
Late Night Transportation Improvements
Users of TheRide's FlexRide Late Night and Holiday service may notice:
- A new booking experience with greater booking capacity
- Adjusted service hours that complement the extended hours when TheRide buses are running
- Expanded service area that now includes the all of the City of Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Township north of Textile Road.
To take advantage of the new booking experience, encourage employees who need late night transportation to download the new app. Commuters with valid go!passes can still book FlexRide Late Night trips for $3 (see guidance for how to adjust your settings to get the discounted rate).
