It's Art Fair Week!

Please note the following road closure information for Art Fair Week and beyond:

9 a.m. Sunday, July 15 through 7 a.m. Wednesday July 18, the following street will be closed for the Townie Street Party special event:

North University between Fletcher and Thayer​.

3-8 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, the following streets will be closed for the Ann Arbor Mile special event:

Main Street Closure

From 6 a.m. on 6/21/18 to 2 a.m. on 6/22/18

Main Street between William and Liberty Streets will be closed starting at 6:00am on Thursday, June 21st and will reopen at 2:00am on Friday 22nd. 

The street closure is to accommodate The Event on Main sponsored by the University of Michigan Health System's Office of Medical Development. 

Keep this in mind when commuting to/from work on Thursday.

Over 35,000 Alternative Commutes Logged During 2018 Commuter Challenge

ANN ARBOR, MI – The getDowntown Program is excited to announce that over 35,000 alternative commutes were logged by almost 2,300 commuters in this year’s Commuter Challenge held during the month of May. These commuters, from 307 different organizations, commuted to work by walking, biking, taking the bus, carpooling, vanpooling and telecommuting.

Kingsley Street between Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue.        

Description of Work:

Daytime closure of the eastbound lane (7 a.m.–5 p.m.), to allow for construction of a loading zone on the south side of the street.

Conquer the Cold Challenge a Success!

Commuters Brave the Winter Weather to Conquer the Cold

ANN ARBOR, MI – The getDowntown Program, along with The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (TheRide), is excited to announce more than 500 commuters competed in this year’s Conquer the Cold Challenge held during the month of January. More than 12,000 alternative commutes were logged by walking, biking, taking the bus, running, carpooling, vanpooling, telecommuting, ride hailing, and even cross-country skiing. In total, commuters avoided driving over 106,000 miles during the month-long event.
